I recently went to my first Kundalini yoga session at Be The Change - Yoga and Wellness and it was quite amazing, very different than what I've done in typical Hatha and Vinyasa yoga. In recent months in the midst of growing my sense of spirituality and well-being, I found out there’s many forms of yoga, other than just the hot Bikram yoga everyone talks about and Vinyasa / Hatha yoga. There’s also ashtanga, yoga nidra, restorative yoga, and sooo many more.
I chose to go to Kundalini yoga one day because I wanted something more spiritual & because part of it is about awakening your third eye. I like enhancing my intuition and being more self-aware because it helps me stay grounded and more focused. Kundalini is much more than that though. I went into the session not really knowing what to expect physically so I looked up a video on YouTube just to get an idea of what I might have to do. The first thing I noticed was the intense breathing, but I didn’t want to scare myself so I quickly turned it off and went to the class to get the full experience.
